Chongchuan to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival with themed market

As Dragon Boat Festival approaches, a large-scale festival market‌ will be held at Chongchuan's Huanxi culture square from May 31 to June 2, featuring over ‌90 distinctive stalls‌, with the millennia-old Haohe River and rich aroma of zongzi (rice dumplings) coming together to create a cultural feast.

In the bustling ‌food zone‌, traditional golden crispy pancakes and tender braised pork evoke pleasant childhood memories, while trendy snacks like egg waffles, juicy oyster omelets, and sweet desserts bridge ancient and contemporary flavors.

At the ‌intangible cultural heritage exhibition area,‌ sugar painters deftly sketch vivid zodiac animals with molten syrup, while veteran sugar-blowing artists sculpt delicate creatures, helping to keep tradition alive.

Many ‌handicraft stalls‌ sell exquisite cultural creations such as lacquer fans, wood carvings, and bamboo weavings, while offering the chance to engage in hands-on workshops.

Additionally, ‌Dragon Boat Festival-themed photo spots‌ artfully blend folk elements with modern aesthetics, the ancient-style dragon boat installations and lifelike zongzi sculptures creating thoughtfully designed backdrops.
