Five enterprises from Tongzhou district, Nantong, have recently been approved as provincial specialized and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu.

These companies are primarily engaged in the advanced equipment manufacturing and high-end textile sectors: Jiangsu Shitong Biotechnology Co, Zhongkeyi (Nantong) Semiconductor Equipment Co, Jiangsu Kerry Home Textiles Co, Nantong Daoqi Lifting Machinery Co, and Jiangsu Zhouji Digital Printing Co.

One standout entry is Jiangsu Kerry Home Textiles Co. The company has developed a top-notch home textile production line and explored collaboration with prestigious universities in China, such as Soochow University and Nantong University. To date, it holds 38 trademarks, six invention patents and 52 utility model patents. In 2024, the company achieved a turnover of over 160 million yuan ($22.22 million).

To date, Tongzhou is home to 16 national "little giant" enterprises and 125 provincial specialized and sophisticated SMEs. The district will optimize its tiered cultivation mechanism to nurture more high-quality enterprises with specialized, sophisticated, unique and innovative capabilities.
