Wu Xinming, Party secretary of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, led a delegation for economic and trade exchanges and investment promotion in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from May 10 to 16.

During the visit to Saudi Arabia, Wu met with founder and chairman of ACWA Power, a Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-based energy and water desalination giant, founder of the Obeikan Investment Group, and head of Plug and Play Saudi Arabia to discuss cooperation in the fields of new energy industry, capital funds, and more.

The "Invest in Nantong, Create the Future - Middle East Session" event was held in Riyadh during this period. Wu said this year marks the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia. Nantong is one of the important destinations for foreign investment in China. The city possesses a strong foundational support from its populace, comprehensive common interests, and a track record of successful collaboration and development with Saudi Arabia. He expressed hope that Saudi Arabian companies and institutions will maintain their confidence in China and continue to invest in Nantong.

During the visit to the UAE, Wu visited the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and the National Petroleum Construction Company in Abu Dhabi to discuss cooperation in liquefied natural gas and oil trading, green new materials, and new energy industries.

Wu also visited sovereign wealth funds such as Mubadala Investment Company in the UAE, promoting Nantong's financial policy environment as well as investment opportunities in new energy, biomedicine, commercial aerospace, and other industries.

He also witnessed the signing of a cooperation memorandum between Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area and Saudi Aramco and a cooperation service agreement between Zhongtian Technology and the National Petroleum Construction Company.
