More than 100 representatives from The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, Tongcheng Travel, and other travel agencies recently visited Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province to experience its unique charm.
The team explored places like Langshan Mountain National Forest Park and Five Mountains area, immersing themselves in the natural landscapes of Nantong amidst the symphony of ancient temple bells and the roaring waves of the Yangtze River. They learned about the city's industrial history at Nantong Museum and the former residence of Zhang Jian (1853-1926), a renowned industrial magnate in the city.
On the golden coastline of Qidong, the guests witnessed the magnificent sunrise over the river and sea and enjoyed fresh food at Lyusi Fishing Port. Li Meiyi from a Hong Kong travel agency praised the scenery along the Yangtze River in Nantong as "particularly enchanting", adding that the slow pace of life in the area is exactly what urban dwellers such as those in Hong Kong long for.
During the tour, which featured the themes "high-speed rail plus tourism", "chartered flights plus tourism", "road trips plus cultural tourism", and "improved tourism services", the Nantong municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, television, and tourism discussed with representatives from the travel agencies. They reached multiple preliminary cooperation agreements to integrate Nantong's high-quality cultural and tourism offerings, develop distinctive tourist routes, and strive to provide a richer cultural tourism experience for global tourists, revitalizing the unique charm of the Jianghai region with greater market vitality.
