Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province will launch a shopping festival on April 30 to create a comprehensive, inclusive, and multi-industry consumer feast spanning the Labor Day holiday, Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Youth Day, Mother's Day, Children's Day, and Father's Day.

This event seeks to strengthen the integration of commerce, culture, tourism, sports, and health, further optimizing the consumption supply and driving high-quality economic development in Nantong through collaborations among the government, enterprises, banks and online platforms.

The city will arrange for key commercial districts and brand boutiques to heavily promote discounts, creating a signature event that embodies "excellent products, good prices, exceptional experiences, and top-notch services," while also advancing the trade-in of consumer goods.

At the governmental level, consumer vouchers worth 10 million yuan ($1.37 million) will be distributed, covering daily consumer goods such as clothing, shoes, cosmetics, jewelry, watches, and more within key commercial districts.

On the enterprise front, business communities will offer various discounts, bonuses, clearance sales, and other promotional activities targeting different consumer groups such as young people, families, and middle to high-end consumers.

Financial institutions will support the event as well, with commercial banks investing heavily in consumer promotions, installment plans, and targeted support for key merchants.

Furthermore, the event will feature nine cross-industry integrated IP activities, including the debut season of brands, collaborations with online platforms like Xiaohongshu and Douyin to promote popular online stores, and hosting a cultural tourism festival.
