Nantong Museum in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has attracted the largest number of flower admirers this year as the white and purple Chinese wisteria trees are in full blossom.

The two ancient Chinese wisteria trees were planted by Zhang Jian in front of Haonan Biye at the museum nearly 120 years ago. These two trees stand on the east and west sides, respectively.

The tree on the east side blooms with purple flowers, a common traditional variety in China with relatively short flower clusters. On the west side, the wisteria blooms with white flowers, with a thicker trunk than the east side, and its roots twisting in an ancient and rustic manner.

The two Chinese wisteria trees have ascended to the third-floor pergola, enveloping the balcony. During their flowering period, the blossoms cascade, resembling waterfalls in multiple layers. Following the blooming phase, the branches remain lush and verdant, gently swaying in the breeze, while the fallen petals release a subtle and refreshing fragrance that promotes a sense of tranquility.

In addition to Chinese wisteria, the hydrangeas and late cherry blossoms at Nantong Museum have also entered their blooming period. Given the favorable weather and the picturesque surroundings, this is an opportune moment to capture and appreciate the beauty of the landscape.
