Tongzhou's GDP is expected to grow by 6.6 percent in 2024, while public revenue is forecasted to reach 7.7 billion yuan ($1.05 billion), a 2.7 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Over the past five years, Tongzhou has been recognized as one of China's top 100 areas in terms of the most investment potential and its overall business environment, making it the only one in Nantong. It was also included on the list of China's top 100 happiest districts.
