On Dec 24, the Erhang Changqing, a 150-meter pile-driving vessel built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries for CCCC Second Harbor Engineering, was officially completed during a ceremony at Zhenhua's Qidong Offshore Base.
Erhang Changqing is the largest pile-driving vessel in the world, measuring 130.5 meters in length, 40.8 meters in width, and 8.4 meters in depth. It also features the world's tallest pile frame at a towering height of 150 meters. Its main hydraulic cylinder provides a thrust of 5,000 metric tons, making it the most powerful of its kind.
The vessel is capable of driving piles weighing up to 700 tons with a diameter of up to 7 meters. Equipped with an advanced pile-driving positioning system featuring offshore satellite differential functions, it is able to achieve centimeter-level precision in deep-sea pile installation.
