On Dec 16, COSCO Marine Engineering Qidong successfully delivered the state-of-the-art FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit) Alexandre de Gusmao, which set sail to support a major deepwater oil development project in Brazil. The vessel will connect to 15 wells, including production, water injection, and gas injection wells.
Measuring 334 meters in length, the FPSO is designed for global oil and gas operations. It boasts the world's largest tonnage and oil storage capacity among FPSOs, functioning as a "floating refinery". It is capable of producing 180,000 barrels of oil and processing 12 million standard cubic meters of natural gas daily, with a maximum storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels of crude oil.
COSCO Marine Engineering Qidong has become a leader in offshore energy solutions, focusing on floating production platform construction and new energy vessels and offshore engineering. The company has built over 60 major projects, covering offshore to deep-sea energy equipment. It continues to set benchmarks in green and smart engineering equipment design, construction, and refurbishment, solidifying its role as a key player in the global energy sector.
