Nantong in Jiangsu province was recently ranked 27th nationwide in attractiveness to those born after 1995, two spots higher than last year, according to the latest report by renowned financial creator Re Zeping and Zhilian Recruitment, a major recruitment platform in China.
The report's index system mainly focuses on two aspects: talent attraction and the ecosystem for talent development.
In recent years, Nantong has introduced various policies and measures, striving to create a city that is a highly appealing to young people from all walks of life.
The city is vigorously developing six industrial clusters valued at 100 billion yuan ($13.81 billion) each, attracting over 500 industrial projects with investments exceeding 500 million yuan annually and over $30 million in foreign investment projects.
Each year, more than 100,000 jobs are offered to college graduates in industries such as next-generation information technology, shipbuilding and marine engineering, and high-end textiles. Tailored and competitive talent policies have been designed for young people, with Nantong pioneering the establishment of "Nantong Talent Day". Since the implementation of the new talent policies in 2019, over 900 million yuan in subsidies has been issued to local talent.
During this year's China Nantong Jianghai Talent Entrepreneurship Week, Nantong unveiled the 2024 version of its talent policy system.
In the future, the city will continue to utilize talent policies to nurture talent, support them to the fullest possible extent, and create a favorable environment for young people to seek employment, start businesses, and settle down.
