CCEDZ-based company wins second prize in national innovation competition
Advanced Composite (Nantong) Technology Co Ltd earned the second prize in the growth enterprise category at the 13th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition for New Energy, New Energy Vehicles, and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection. It was the only company from Jiangsu province to win an award.
Located in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone's Maipu Technology Park, ACT has invested nearly 50 million yuan ($6.92 million) in developing, producing, and selling a full range of innovative composite materials. These materials address the critical safety needs of thermal runaway and thermal spread prevention in new energy batteries.
The company produces 2 million square meters of battery safety materials annually, with an output value of 150 million yuan. This year, it has secured orders totaling 320 million yuan and successfully partnered with renowned clients such as SAIC Motor and Audi.
The China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition is a national contest overseen by the Ministry of Science and Technology and other departments. It is widely regarded as the most prestigious and influential innovation competition in China. This year's event featured 170 companies from across the country, with nine winning first, second, or third prizes in the new energy and environmental protection categories.
