Nantong Xingdong International Airport in Jiangsu province set a new record in passenger and cargo throughput in October with respective volumes of 386,500 and 7,662 metric tons.
The figures represent 22.38 percent and 30.24 percent year-on-year increases.
By the end of October, the Nantong airport had handled over 3.49 million passengers, surpassing the entire volume of 2019 and up 10.02 percent from previous year.
It is anticipated that by the mid-November, the passenger throughput of the airport is expected to exceed the total number of last year.
The staggering increase of the cargo throughput at the airport in October was mainly attributed to the operation of the Nantong-Zhengzhou route with the Zhengzhou flights accounting for one third of the airport's total cargo throughput.
