Hai'an writer wins prestigious prose award

The fourth Wu Boxiao Prose Award ceremony took place in Jinan, Shandong province, on Aug 8, during which Hai'an writer Wu Xiaoming was honored for his work The Flower Drum Begins to Beat. This accolade marks another significant achievement for Wu, who won the 10th Bingxin Prose Award last year for his piece A Melody Through the Millennia.
The Flower Drum Begins to Beat is an essay that vividly captures the life story, emotional world, and artistic pursuit of the practitioners of the flower drum, a traditional cultural heritage item.
Wu is a member of the China Writers Association and vice-chairman of the Hai'an Writers Association.
The Wu Boxiao Prose Award was established in memory of the renowned Chinese essayist and educator Wu Boxiao, aiming to promote the creation of original prose in China.
