Located next to both the Yangtze River and the sea and near Shanghai, the county-level city of Qidong in Nantong, Jiangsu stands at the convergence of multiple national strategies including the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the Yangtze Economic Belt.

Recent progress on the construction of the Chongming-Qidong Rail-cum-Road Yangtze River Bridge marks a significant milestone. Once completed, the bridge will enable commuters to travel from Qidong to Shanghai in just half an hour via high-speed rail.

In the Qidong Life and Health Science and Technology Park, the facilities and policy environment are modeled after the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. Over 80 percent of the new projects introduced to the park are from Shanghai.

Inspired by advanced regions like Wujiang district and Taicang in Suzhou, Qidong plans to launch over 100 manufacturing projects with equipment investment exceeding 20 million yuan ($2.75 million) each and complete 100 manufacturing projects with equipment investment exceeding 8 million yuan each this year. It also aims to attract 100 new industrial enterprises and 50 service enterprises above the designated scale and list two companies on the stock exchange.

These efforts underscore Qidong's commitment to fostering robust economic growth and solidifying its position as a pivotal player in regional development.
