Jiashi (Jiangsu) Agricultural Science and Technology Co Ltd in Qidong, Nantong has taken a significant step towards modern agriculture by installing an intelligent monitoring system in their greenhouses.

This advanced technology precisely monitors and regulates humidity, temperature, irrigation, and carbon dioxide levels, significantly enhancing efficiency and reducing the need for manual labor. With the integration of internet of things (IoT) technology, the 21.3-hectare blueberry farm can be maintained by just three full-time workers.

The company's vice-president, Xu Zhenshan, can monitor the growth of the blueberries remotely via his smartphone, ensuring real-time updates and control from anywhere with an internet connection.

Furthermore, the farm employs integrated techniques for pollination, biological pest control, and water-fertilizer management, ensuring all blueberries meet green standards. Each greenhouse is equipped with a custom nutrition plan and undergoes regular checks. Based on these assessments, nutrient solutions are adjusted automatically, enhancing the blueberries' taste and quality.

This innovative approach has significantly boosted the farm's productivity, with an expected annual output value of 200 million yuan ($27.69 million), said Xu.
