Zenith Steel Group Nantong Company in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province has taken a series of proactive measures to advance the transformation and sustainable development of the steel industry in an attempt to foster new quality productive forces.

In August 2020, Zenith Steel launched a green premium steel facility with the goal of establishing a high-end green coastal steel industrial park valued at 100 billion yuan ($13.83 billion). The first phase of the facility commenced operations in March 2023, focusing on the production of high-end green premium bar and wire rod, in addition to supporting high-quality, high value-added products.

By integrating ICT technologies such as "5G+Cloud+AI+Big Data" with steel production, Zenith Steel has built a smart factory with an intelligent control center that oversees seven major processes before ironmaking and 16 production systems, enabling automatic data collection and interactive data analysis.

Zenith Steel has also introduced the world's first set of AI+5G pure electric locomotives, equipped with features such as all-weather, full-process unmanned driving for molten iron transportation, integrated positioning tracking, and precise control for parking alignment.

Zenith Steel has also implemented a central water treatment plant's brine crystallization system, which concentrates high-concentration wastewater to produce industrial salt products through evaporative crystallization, while simultaneously treating the wastewater for complete reuse as desalinated water.

In addition, Zenith Steel has established the largest single rooftop distributed photovoltaic project in the province. It was connected to the grid for power generation in February 2023, employing a "self-generation and self-use" grid connection model.
