Modern agricultural facilities in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province have won national recognition, as announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on March 3.

This achievement can be largely attributed to a series of concerted efforts by local authorities in recent years, including expanding the capacity for cultivating green vegetables, improving high-quality livestock and poultry breeding, and implementing agricultural structural adjustments to promote specialized and differentiated development.

The district has a total area of 282,700 mu (18,846.67 hectares) dedicated to growing fruits and vegetables in modern agricultural facilities, and 106,800 mu of horticultural parks and bases equipped with advanced facilities consisting of 2,100 mu of contiguous greenhouses and 104,500 mu of steel-framed greenhouses.

Haimen is also home to 225 livestock and poultry farms covering a total area of 18,000 mu, all of which are outfitted with modern facilities. Additionally, there are 32 grain drying centers equipped with 248 drying machines.

In addition, the district boasts refrigerated storage facilities with a capacity of 310,000 cubic meters, with 78,800 cubic meters specifically designated for the storage of agricultural products at their origins.
