More cultural spaces in Nantong receive provincial recognition (II)

The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently published its list of the most beautiful public cultural spaces, including 14 in Nantong.

The Haimen Folk Song Exhibition Hall, part of the Haimen Folk Song Art Theater, showcases local folk song culture through words, photos, videos and sand tables, creating an immersive experience.

The Zhang Jian Memorial Hall, located in Changle town, houses a display room themed on Zhang Jian (1853-1926), a renowned patriot, industrial magnate, educator, and philanthropist in Nantong. The hall is home to the oldest ginkgo tree in Haimen and some distinctive buildings.

Built in 2021, the Yangkou Library houses 5,600 books and consists of areas for children's reading, digital resources, and communication.

Comprising a bookstore, art gallery, multipurpose room, and more, the Chengzhong Subdistrict Cultural Center offers free art classes throughout the year and has received nearly 200,000 visitors since it started operating in 2021.

Housing over 7,000 books, the Yunshang Bookstore in Dongxingzhen village is a two-floor building with the first floor for children and the second floor for adults and electronic reading.

The Qidong Museum, a cultural landmark of Qidong, is home to a permanent exhibition hall, temporary exhibition hall, experience hall, reading hall and hanging garden. The permanent exhibition hall showcases Qidong's history, culture and contemporary development.

The Li Changyu Museum of Criminal Investigation is the first of its kind in the world and showcases the life of Li Changyu, a skilled detective born in Nantong in 1938, and his research into criminal investigation through photos, words, videos, and physical objects.
