Agricultural supermarket makes farm-to-table possible
The newly-launched Supply and Marketing E-Home Supermarket in Hai'an, Nantong, Jiangsu province has drawn a number of customers eager to see what it has to offer.

According to Zhang Changchun, director of the council of the Hai'an Supply and Marketing Cooperative, the supermarket collaborates closely with professional farmer cooperatives to facilitate a direct connection between farms and supermarkets. This approach reduces intermediary steps, cuts distribution costs, and boosts incomes for local farmers.
To enhance the support for agricultural policies benefiting rural communities, the Hai'an Supply and Marketing Cooperative invested 500,000 yuan ($69,651) to establish the Hai'an Supply and Cooperation Trading Company and open supermarkets specializing in agricultural products.
Leveraging the inherent advantages of the supply and marketing cooperative, the agricultural products supermarket efficiently links production, service, and consumption. This get products form the farm to the table as quickly and simply as possible, facilitating the entry of farmers and agricultural cooperatives into markets. The goal is to provide consumers with a more convenient and diverse shopping experience while exploring new models to help farmers increase their incomes.
In addition to everyday necessities such as household goods, grains, oils, stationery, fresh fruits, snacks, breakfast items, and gift boxes, the agricultural products supermarket collaborates with the local disabled persons' federation. This partnership involves showcasing and selling food and handicrafts crafted by individuals with disabilities. It not only introduces more people to the works of disabled individuals but also helps them expand their market reach, promoting targeted assistance and support.
