Forty-six agricultural entities from Haimen district exhibited their top-selling products at the 2023 Nantong Agricultural Fair held in Shanghai from Dec 15 to 17.

A series of local specialties such as taro, mutton, red beans, and golden fungus proved highly popular among visitors to the fair, with the daily average sales revenue exceeding 150,000 yuan ($20,995.61).

Lu Xiaowei, an exhibitor, said that he gained a better understanding of the personalized needs of Shanghai residents and will be able to develop more customized meal ordering services in the future, hoping to expand his company's presence in the city.

In addition, authorities also invited 10 purchasing agents from the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang as well as the municipality of Shanghai to experience the quality of Haimen agricultural products. They held in-depth discussions with Haimen exhibitors to fully appreciate the unique charm of Haimen agricultural products. The buyers reached initial cooperation intentions with more than 20 exhibitors.

Mobilizing enterprises to attend exhibitions is part of efforts by authorities to help agricultural entities create brands, establish cooperation platforms and aid in rural vitalization, said a local official.
