The 2023 China Hai'an Investment and Trade Cooperation Conference took place in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Dec 16.

Representatives from the nation's top 500 companies, State-owned enterprises, listed firms and key industry associations as well as experts and professors from universities and institutions attended the event.

During the conference, deals for 30 projects related to science, technology and industries were signed.

The conference served as a microcosm of the city's commitment to promoting the integrated development of innovation and real economy.

To support the growth of high-tech enterprises, Hai'an has established connections between 53 government departments and 458 technology enterprises. Throughout this year, over 100 issues have been resolved to facilitate the development of these enterprises.

In addition, Hai'an has been focusing on building close partnerships with universities and institutions. To date, Hai'an has collaborated with about 10 renowned universities such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nantong University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University and launched projects covering various industries, including intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, and new materials.

Hai'an is currently home to 550 high-tech enterprises. This year, four local enterprises in Hai'an were upgraded to innovative enterprises at the provincial level, with the number accounting for one fourth of the total in Nantong.
