A batch of 19 metric tons of canned broad beans, tested and approved by Rudong County Customs, Nantong, Jiangsu province, has just been shipped to countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

These canned goods were produced by Rudong's Nantong Yuanheng Food Co Ltd, a company specializing in canned food production.

BRI countries have become the company's primary export market. In the first three quarters of this year, the company's exports more than doubled compared to the previous year, the highest in four years, according to Gu Liming, one of the company's leads.

"Customs' facilitation measures have boosted the competitiveness of our products overseas, and we've already had several new customers approaching us for collaboration this year," Gu added.

To boost exports of local products, the local customs has implemented a classified management system for canned food exporters and established a green channel to streamline customs procedures, reduce clearance times, and ensure a smooth and timely passage for canned goods destined for BRI countries.

Official statistics show that in the first three quarters of this year, the county exported over 10,000 tons of canned goods, a remarkable 106 percent increase from the previous year. More than 90 percent of these exports were directed towards BRI countries.
