A mega project that involves the application of solar photovoltaic power in the aquacultural industry in Rudong is now ready for grid connection. It is expected to start generating electricity by the end of the year, with an estimated annual power output of up to 700 million kWh when fully connected to the grid.

The project is a combination of three individual projects by Huaneng Group, China Resources Group (CR), and China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), spanning an area of about 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares).

Upon full grid connection, Huaneng's project is projected to generate an annual average of 236 million kWh. CR's project, once completed, will contribute an initial annual power output of 245 million kWh. Following grid connection, CGN's project is set to transmit 232 million kWh of green energy to the grid each year.

The project is expected to further optimize the energy structure in Rudong, promoting the expansion and growth of the county's new energy industry.

Rudong's installed capacity for new energy has already reached 6.09 million kWh. The annual volume of new energy added to the grid can reach 13 billion kWh, exceeding the county's total electricity consumption.
