Tongzhou prioritizes skilled talent in pursuit of high-quality growth
Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is committed to nurturing skilled talent to support the district's pursuit of high-quality development.
Currently, the district is home to 143,200 highly-skilled professionals, including 8,593 technicians and senior technicians.
This year, the district's human resources and social security bureau has initiated enterprise-school collaboration and established cooperative partnerships with Nantong University's Xinglin College to strengthen cooperation between academia and industry in talent development.
"After a briefing from the bureau, we found that the students majoring in design at Xinglin College align with our company's recruitment needs," said a representative from Jiangsu Goldsun Textile Technology Co Ltd.
The company was in need of product design professionals and, upon learning about the college's specialized programs, got in touch.
To date, six enterprises in the district have become employment and entrepreneurship bases for college graduates of Xinglin College. Some entrepreneurs from these companies have also become mentors for college students, providing them with a broader platform for employment and entrepreneurship.
In addition to these initiatives, the bureau has organized several policy briefing sessions to encourage companies to conduct independent vocational skills training. This drive aims to enhance the development of innovative, applied, and skilled talent pools within businesses. As of now, the district has a total of 14 companies with qualifications for independent training.
