Rudong expands sales channels for agricultural products
Rudong county in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been actively working to open up sales channels for its agricultural products in recent years. In the first half of this year, the sales revenue of agricultural products under the local brand exceeded 20 million yuan ($2.73 million).
To boost sales of local agricultural products, in 2021 Rudong introduced the regional public brand "Ruyi Dongfang" and promoted brand integration and development. In addition, the local county supply and marketing cooperative has been combining online and offline approaches to increase brand promotion efforts
Director Wu Yayun of the cooperative said that on July 31, the first "Ruyi Dongfang" brand counter was opened and its first live stream was held.
During the event, two Jiangsu-based companies signed strategic cooperation agreements with the brand, establishing a long-term partnership. The live stream event helped sell a total of 360,000-yuan-worth of Rudong agricultural products, including Cuiguan pears, Langshan chickens, and seaweed.
In June and August of this year, Rudong respectively released the first and second batches of authorized companies and product lists under the "Ruyi Dongfang" brand. Authorized companies and products will have unified brand packaging to enhance their brand image.
To further develop high-quality branded products, the cooperative has also introduced policies to increase support and incentives for companies using the regional public brand. Currently, 31 companies have been authorized to use the brand trademark for 48 products in the major industries of grains and oils, seafood, fruits and vegetables, and livestock and poultry.
