Qilong, a township of Qidong city in East China's Jiangsu province, used to be a separate island in the Yangtze River Delta, but reclamation projects and natural deposition of sediment have joined it with Chongming Island.

Changes have been taking place in Qilong over the past decades along with China's rapid economic development. Once a desolate and remote land, it has been transformed into a thriving oasis of relaxation.

With its focus on ecological protection, modern agriculture and tourism, this small town has successfully carved out a space where nature and humanity can coexist in harmony. Visitors can now escape chaotic city life and immerse themselves in the tranquility and beauty of Qilong's greenery.

By adjusting its industrial development trajectory and promoting transformation and upgrades, Qilong envisions a future built around the creation of a provincial-level tourist resort area.

Qilong is committed to developing modern agriculture and tourism services. It has over 9,000 mu (600 hectares) of land dedicated to modern agriculture and tourism and more than 12,500 mu of various ecological corridors.

As cars weave through the town, a refreshing summer breeze carries the scent of the surrounding farming fields. The vast expanse of farmland stretches out, portraying a picturesque scene of agrarian civilization in its purest form.
