Haimen Grand Theater in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been listed as a provincial demonstration theater, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced on Sept 1.

Thirteen theaters in the province made the list.

The theater consists of an audience hall, stage, dressing rooms, a recording studio, offices, and conference rooms. It has two sets of side electric hoists, four sets of single-point hoists outside the stage opening, five sets of lighting hoists, six sets of main stage single-point hoists, and 29 sets of electric hoists above the stage, which can meet the needs of small and medium-sized concerts, stage plays, and cultural performances.

The 366-square-meter audience hall can accommodate 422 spectators and there are eight dressing rooms backstage, accommodating up to 60 actors at once.

A series of large-scale events, including the 2022 Haimen Trade and Investment Fair, have been held in the theater since it opened to the public in January, 2022.

The theater is also planning to introduce high-quality dramas and performances for the benefit of locals.
