Nantong to hold new-gen information technology expo

The 2023 Nantong New-generation Information Technology Expo is set to take place in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, from Aug 31 to Sept 1, according to a recent press conference.
The event will include an opening ceremony, a 5,000-square meter exhibition area, and 11 parallel activities, such as the 2023 China Electronic Components Industry Summit, an Artificial Intelligence Innovation Development Forum, and the IC Industry Technology Innovation Summit.
Nearly 1,000 businesses from home and abroad are expected to display their latest products and technologies at the exhibition.
The expo this year was organized by the Nantong municipal government, the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the China Electronic Components Association, and Fudan University.
Since 2017, the expo has been held five times, which was of great importance to Nantong's high-quality economic and social development.
In recent years, the new-generation information technology industry has experienced rapid development in Nantong. The industry's sales revenue in the city increased from 93 billion yuan ($12.76 billion) in 2017 to 245 billion yuan in 2022, at an annual increase rate of more than 20 percent.
Special industrial parks including the IC Test Industrial Park and the IC Parts Industrial Park have also been established and research institutes including the Yangtze Delta Institute of Optoelectronics at Peking University have set up operations in the city.
