At the Yuanhong Wanjia agriculture base, located in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, large amounts of lettuce are growing under the artificial light at a smart glasshouse.

As one of the smart plantation factories in Tongzhou, Yuanhong Wanjia has been advancing smart agriculture in recent years by utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, internet of things and cloud computing.

The first phase of the plantation consists of smart glasshouses covering 4,500 square meters and is equipped with an integrated control system for irrigation, fertilization and temperature setting.

The glasshouse at the base consists of a buffer zone, artificial light cultivation area, natural light cultivation area, pre-cooling room, control room and nutrient solution irrigation area. The environment in the glasshouse can be controlled by staff to ensure the best conditions for vegetable growth.

In March, the second phase of the project expanded the first phase by 12,500 square meters. The project will focus on soilless cultivation to reduce the seedling cultivation period and provide seedling cultivation services to surrounding farmers.
