A pocket park in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been listed among provincial high-quality public green spaces, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced on July 27.

Fifty pocket parks in the province made the list.

The 0.8-hectare park, which cost 4 million yuan ($559,098.8) to build in 2022, is equipped with facilities such as sports grounds, a runway, a badminton court and a rest space.

The park has become a popular destination for leisure, social contact and exercise among residents of nearby residential communities. A resident surnamed Wang said that she brings her child to the park every day and it is a great place to get closer to nature.

The park is also playing an active role in improving the district's ecological environment and upgrading its urban landscape, said local authorities.
