Four enterprises in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, were listed as 2023 provincial-level benchmark factories for industrial internet, including Tongfu Microelectronics Co Ltd in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone.

Founded in 1994, Tongfu is a leading provider of integrated circuit packaging and testing services. The company currently offers one-stop solutions for design simulation and packaging testing to global clients.

Headquartered in Nantong, the company has established a global manufacturing and service base with seven production facilities in Nantong, Hefei, Xiamen, Suzhou, and Penang, Malaysia.

The company's products, technologies, and services cover a wide range of areas, including network communication, mobile terminals, household appliances, artificial intelligence, and automotive electronics.

In 2022, the company applied for 165 patents, with advanced packaging technology patents accounting for over 60 percent of the total. The number of patents granted increased by nearly 40 percent compared to the previous year.

In terms of industry rankings, the company ranked second in China and fourth globally in 2022, moving up one place from the previous year.

The zone where Tongfu located is currently home to two provincial-level benchmark factories for industrial internet, one provincial-level industrial internet platform, two provincial-level demonstration factories for intelligent manufacturing, and four provincial-level demonstration workshops for intelligent manufacturing.

Benchmark factories for industrial internet refer to enterprises that rely on industrial internet platforms and utilize technologies like data collection, integration applications and modeling analysis to optimize various resource elements throughout the entire production process, achieving efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
