The Lyusi Port Area of Qidong, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, saw a container throughput of 32,000 TEUs in the first half of this year.
Since its opening on Oct 26, 2022, the container terminal of Lyusi Port Area has achieved continuous growth in the number of ships and containers serviced.
The port has a shoreline length of 812 meters, a water depth of 14.8 meters, and a terminal yard with an area of 310,000 square meters. It is the first fully automated container terminal in the province.
The port has achieved full automation of port operations and intelligent production management through the application of advanced technologies such as 5G, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, and the internet of things.
On March 25 this year, the container terminal opened the Lyusi-Japan trade route, which will further connect the Yangtze River Delta with the outside world, providing local and surrounding foreign trade enterprises with a new logistics transportation channel that is efficient, fast, and cost-effective.
The Lyusi Port Area is now regarded as a key part of the Tongzhou Bay demonstration area and is positioned to play a pivotal role in the national development strategy for the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
