Where to admire lotus flowers in Nantong

Lotus flowers in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have now been in full bloom for a while and here is a list of recommended places in the city to admire them.

Yinghong Building

At midsummer night, Nantong natives love to ramble along the Haohe River for entertainment and discover that the Yinghong Building along the river is the best spot for lotus flowers. Walking on the wooden trestle over the river, people are escorted by vast stretches of lotus flowers on both sides.

Nantong Botanical Garden

Nantong Botanical Garden is offering a lotus flower exhibition where more than 300 lotus flowers and 100 water lilies are on display. It also provides lotus flower-related food, such as lotus flower-shaped ice cream, lotus leaf tea, and handmade lotus root starch.

Puxian Temple

With morning bells, evening drums, and Zen sound ringing in their ear, tourists can visit the lotus flower pond beside Puxian Temple with a quieter mind than usual. If they are lucky enough, they can get a glimpse of water birds.

Tangzha Park

Tangzha Park has a water surface area of 3.6 hectares, including about 1 ha grown with lotus flowers in over 30 species. Standing on the suspended corridor at the park, one can have a different view of the lotus flower pond which is hidden behind dense bamboo forest.
