New project breaks ground in Tongzhou Bay demonstration area
The groundbreaking ceremony for a project focusing on the research, development and production of titanium alloy tubes took place on June 30 in the High-tech Comprehensive Industrial Park in Tongzhou Bay demonstration area in Nantong, Jiangsu province.
The project is the result of the area's efforts to attract investment. It is expected to start operation in 2024 and will produce 1,500 metric tons of titanium alloy tubes annually.
Shanghai Chuangduan Shiye Co Ltd, a leading enterprise in the field of titanium piping, is funding the project. It aims to expand its industrial layout in the titanium alloy sector and improve its research and development through the project.
Titanium and titanium alloys are widely used in fields such as aerospace, aviation, maritime, petroleum, and chemicals due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, stiffness, and corrosion resistance.
