Qidong saw 157 newly authorized invention patents from January to April, a year-on-year increase of 17.16 percent, ranking second among all counties, county-level cities and districts in Nantong.

Invention patents are important for the development of enterprises and an endogenous driving force for the high-quality development of a region.

This year, relevant departments in Qidong have invited service agencies and experts to hold intellectual property lectures for enterprises on patent application, patent writing, patent layout and other topics.

As of the end of April, Qidong had 4,249 valid invention patents, an increase of 3.71 percent from the end of last year, ranking top among all counties, county-level cities and districts in Nantong.

In addition, the city has opened a green channel for enterprises that are in urgent need of patent authorizations such as high-tech enterprise identifications or project selections.

Jiangsu Yunke Rubber Technology Co Ltd obtained authorization for two patents in just three months, and other projects were able to proceed as scheduled. Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Qidong Marine Engineering Co Ltd obtained authorization for three patents in four to six months, a reduction of more than 18 months compared with general application methods.
