The 10th Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Hai'an held on May 27 witnessed the signing of agreements on 44 science and technological projects.

The event is one of the many efforts made by the county to advance local innovative development.

Li Qianmu, deputy director of the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, delivered a speech at the event, saying that Hai'an has implemented over 300 projects in the field of science and technology through such events and has achieved a large number of technological achievements.

Hai'an ranks first among all county-level cities in Jiangsu province in terms of the number of national high-tech enterprises, number of provincial-level research and development institutions, and number of invent patents per 10,000 people, said Chen Dongmei, vice mayor of Nantong.

The county's dedication to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship is further exemplified by its implementation of incentive policies.

For example, Hai'an has implemented incentive policies to attract high-level talent from both domestic and overseas for innovation and entrepreneurship. Under these policies, eligible individuals can receive financial support of up to 5 million yuan ($702,845), while teams can receive support of up to 6 million yuan.

In addition, technological innovation centers, key laboratories belonging to enterprises, academician workstations, and industrial technology innovation strategic alliances that have been recognized as national or provincial-level will be rewarded 1 million yuan and 500,000 yuan, respectively.

Alongside the event, five specialized technology achievement release conferences were also held.
