Hai'an ranks 25th in top 100 counties for high-quality development
Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has ranked 25th in the top 100 counties in China for high-quality development for 2023.
The national evaluation system for high-quality county-level development aims at assessing the level of development in various counties. It includes seven dimensions and comprises 36 specific indicators.
In 2022, Hai'an maintained steady development and achieved a regional GDP of 137.98 billion yuan ($19.61 billion), ranking 11th among all county-level cities in the province.
In addition, the county ranked 17th in the top 100 industrial counties (cities) in China and 26th in the ranking of county-level cities in basic modernization in China.
In the first quarter of this year, Hai'an achieved a regional GDP of 34.46 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 5.6 percent, ranking second in Nantong in terms of growth rate.
In the same period, the value added of primary, secondary and tertiary industries reached 1.03 billion yuan, 19.07 billion yuan, and 14.36 billion yuan respectively, with year-on-year growths of 4.9 percent, 6.4 percent and 4.5 percent.
