Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province secured $50-million-worth of intended deals at the 133rd China Import and Export Fair, which concluded on May 5 in South China's Guangzhou.
The success is largely due to efforts by authorities to encourage enterprises to display their products at the fair.
Forty-four foreign trade enterprises based in Haimen attended the fair and displayed products such as home textiles, household electrical appliances, spare auto parts, electrical tools, kitchenware, household items, toys, clothing accessories, and sports products at 81 booths.
Authorities also sent invitations to more than 50 foreign businessmen at the fair and welcomed them to the district's Dieshiqiao town to engage with representatives of 150 textile enterprises.
The China Import and Export Fair, also known as Canton Fair, attracted buyers from over 220 countries and regions this year, as it resumed all onsite exhibitions for the first time after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
