Tongzhou strengthens intellectual property protection
Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, considers intellectual property protection to be an important indicator of the health of its business environment and a key driver of high-quality development.
The district has implemented incentive policies to support the conversion and utilization of intellectual property.
Last year, 96 companies in the district secured intellectual property financing of 732 million yuan ($105.36 million).
In addition, local authorities have established a comprehensive enterprise database to carry out hierarchical classification training for innovative enterprises.
Last year, four companies in Tongzhou were named as national demonstration enterprises for intellectual property, the most in Nantong.
Tongzhou has also been committed to promoting patent applications in the home textile industry.
In response to the fast-changing home textile industry and the relatively long patent application period, Nantong Home Textile City established an intellectual property rights center in 2014 to safeguard the development of enterprises.
As a result of these efforts, Tongzhou was recognized as one of the first national demonstration counties for the strong development of intellectual property in 2022.
