Haimen's innovation endeavors earn provincial recognition
Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province was recently recognized provincially for its efforts to create a favorable environment where enterprises can pursue innovation, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology announced on April 26.
Fifteen districts, counties and cities in the province received the honor.
Haimen authorities have implemented a series of measures, including establishing an enterprise service center for science and technology investment, as well as rolling out a three-year action plan and guidelines to provide support to enterprises engaged in innovation.
The local government has awarded 100 million yuan ($14.48 million) to more than 500 high-tech enterprises in recent years, of which 810 million yuan was earmarked to high-tech enterprises in 2022 alone.
Authorities also engaged with entrepreneurs regularly to help them deal with difficulties.
The district has welcomed 130 innovation projects over the past three years, and is currently home to six national little giant enterprises, 50 provincial little giant enterprises, 270 high-tech enterprises and 495 small and medium-sized high-tech enterprises.
Authorities said they will add institutional innovation to their efforts to optimize services for high-tech enterprises.
