Yisheng village in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been listed among demonstration areas for its efforts to develop rural tourism, the World Tourism Alliance announced on March 13.

It was one of 50 villages in the country to receive the honor.

The village received 1.5 million tourists in 2021, providing jobs to 1,500 residents. The tourism revenue generated in the village was 40 million yuan ($5.78 million).

The World Tourism Alliance, an international nonprofit organization set up by the China National Tourism Association, is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
