The Yangkou Port (Shanghai) Investment Environment Promotions Conference was held in Shanghai city in East China on March 28, attracting nearly 30 companies operating in new materials, new energy and new equipment.

The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, located in Rudong county in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province, operates Yangkou Port – a major deep-water facility that connects to the international shipping routes of the Yellow Sea.

Shao Feng, secretary of Rudong's Party working committee, said that Yangkou Port was playing a pivotal role in the county's economic and social development and was the main engine for Nantong city's coastal development.

Shao added that the port is striving to build a full industry supply chain for new energy, new materials and new equipment and was trying to take the lead in absorbing Shanghai's industrial and economic spillover.

Zhou Liang, director of the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone management committee, briefed the conference on the development trends and huge potential of Yangkou Port's "three new" industries.
