Haimen takes steps to bolster rural tourism

Authorities of Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province have rolled out new measures to bolster its rural tourism this year.
For example, authorities of Changle town are tapping its cultural resources such as the Zhang Jian Memorial House to develop a study tour.
Zhang Jian, who was born in Changle town in 1853, founded more than 100 enterprises and 400 schools during his lifetime.
Authorities of Sijia town are planning to establish an industry alliance center to provide services like smart agriculture displays, livestreaming e-commerce and agricultural produce exhibitions.
Agricultural produce like Chinese yam, green-shelled eggs and cherries will be exhibited and sold at the alliance center. Visitors can also experience the planting process at the center.
Haiyong town, which is adjacent to Shanghai's Chongming Island, a world-class ecological island, is ramping up efforts to develop its homestay industry as part of efforts to boost the development of its rural areas.
