After the week-long Spring Festival holiday, Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, held its first job fair of the year on Jan 30, local media reported.
The effort is part of the district's latest campaign to increase employment.
During the fair, 140 enterprises in Chongchuan offered more than 4,000 jobs in the sectors of commerce, machine manufacturing, scientific and technological research and development, and administrative management.
Over 4,000 people attended the fair, 1,233 of whom reached tentative agreements with companies.
Xu Jiahui, a recent graduate who participated in the fair, said that the event provided many good job opportunities for him.
A livestream broadcast was also held that day with the cooperation of six enterprises.
Nantong Jinghua Pharmaceutical Co Ltd is one of the enterprises that participated in the livestream.
"This year we plan to expand production lines and recruit more than 100 people," said Cao Feng, the company's human resource specialist. She added that the livestream helped the company recruit more suitable employees.
According to district human resource authorities, the hiring campaign will run until the end of March.
