Haimen seeks more investment from Singapore
Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province is ramping up efforts to attract more investment, with a delegation sent to Singapore from Jan 9 to 12.
The delegation, which visited some of Singapore's major enterprises such as Ramatex Group, Kinergy Corporation Ltd, aimed to establish in-depth cooperation with Singapore in areas including industrial chains, value chains and innovation chains.
Ma Wenqing, the president of Ramatex Group, said that his company will speed up the construction of its $1.5-billion textile facility in Haimen and make efforts to put the facility into operation this September.
The delegation also visited the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (ASTAR), which is one of the main information sources for Singapore's high-tech enterprises and top professional talent.
Li Xiang, a scientist of ASTAR, said that his team will help Haimen attract more investment and high-caliber talent from Singapore.
In the near future, the district will send more delegations to Europe, the United States, Japan and South Korea to attract investment in fields such as new-generation information technology, intelligent manufacturing and automobile spare parts, said local authorities.
