Haimen establishes 301 medical teams to provide services to key groups

Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province established 301 medical teams to offer 24-hour services to key groups on Jan 9, according to authorities.
The medical teams, which consist of community staff, primary-level doctors, volunteers and policemen, provide services such as health guidance, health monitoring, health assessment, medication consultation, online medical inquiries and daily life assistance.
The medical teams are aimed at providing better medical services to the district's key groups, including elderly people aged 65 or above, children under six years old, pregnant women and hemodialysis patients.
Zhou Shuihai, a community doctor of the medical teams, said he offers phone guidance on medication to residents every day as well as delivers medicine to residents.
The medical teams will focus their efforts on providing more help to the district's key groups in terms of health management at home and vaccination, said a local official.
