On-campus job fair held in Hai'an

A job fair was held at the Nantong Institute of Technology in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on Nov 12, local media reported.

During the fair, 86 enterprises offered more than 3,000 jobs in sectors such as manufacturing, retailing, information technology and finance.

Jobs from enterprises in Hai'an were particularly popular among graduates.

"I want to stay in Hai'an after graduation as I think it has much development potential because of its highly developed textile industry," said Lin Jinyu, a student from North China's Shanxi province who wanted to find a job in costume design.

To cultivate more applied talents who can meet the needs of local enterprises, the institute has been encouraging students to participate in skills competitions. The institute has won 114 national awards and 1,124 provincial ones over the past two years. A total of 2,292 students received awards in skills competitions.

More than 1,500 fresh graduates participated in the job fair, and 331 of them secured employment intentions with enterprises, according to the statistics from the institute.
