A warehouse designated by Hai'an customs as a storage facility for imported meat products completed its first transaction of 25 metric tons of Spanish pettitoes on Oct 26, local media reported.

The warehouse, which is located in the Hai'an bonded logistics center, is the first in the central region of Jiangsu province that is qualified to store imported meats.

To ensure food safety, goods entering the warehouse will undergo strict disinfection procedures.

The warehouse has been credited with improving the cold chain industry in Hai'an.

The center is now planning to introduce more projects to the local cold chain industry to form a regional industrial cluster.
