The Literature Day sponsored by the China Literature Foundation and the Publicity Department of the CPC Hai'an Municipal Committee was held in Hai'an, Nantong, on Aug 30.

Peng Min of the Poetry Periodical under the Chinese Writers Association shared his research on Su Shi, a renowned poet in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), as well as his views on Hai'an.

He Ping, a native of Hai'an, who won the eighth Lu Xun Literature Prize, talked about his studies in Hai'an before embarking on a literary career, saying that there were many literature activities in the city in the 1980s and some important literary periodicals were available to locals.

Following the sharing session, Li Hongwei, novelist and head of the Editorial Department of Contemporary Literature of the Writers Publishing House, gave a lecture to over 20 literature workers in Hai'an.
