Hai'an Hi-tech District in Hai'an, Nantong, Jiangsu province, held a conference in Changzhou on Aug 27 to attract investment in modern agriculture.

The district, a hub of investment outside of Hai'an, administers four subdistricts and houses half of the population in the city.

In recent years, the district has ramped up efforts to contribute to Hai'an's construction of a land of fish and rice in central Jiangsu.

The Hai'an Grain Logistics Industrial Park in the district was upgraded to provincial level in 2020 when it generated nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.45 billion) in revenue. An industrial cluster featuring grain storage, processing, delivery, and detection has taken shape in the park as well.

Yu Mujun, deputy director of the Hai'an municipal bureau of rural revitalization, invited entrepreneurs in southern Jiangsu to visit the city and experience its strong atmosphere for developing modern agriculture.

Liu Laiwen, deputy director of the administrative committee of Hai'an Hi-tech District, introduced the district's competitive agricultural projects involving farm produce processing, urban agricultural facilities, and entertainment agriculture.

At the signing ceremony, the four subdistricts in the Hai'an Hi-tech District secured two projects. Among them, the intelligent agriculture project brought in by Longzheng subdistrict is worth 28 million yuan and will promote the development of modern agriculture.
